Mab Hall: Named for Queen Mab of the fairies, described by Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet. Her significance in Elf Mastery has not been revealed, except that there is a building named after her. The building is near the northwest corner of the Equinox grounds and is a large open hall used for dances and exhibitions.
Manticore: (MAN tik or) A creature from Persian mythology. usually portrayed as the body of a lion, human head, and scorpion tail, or similar construction. Often represented with wings. In Elf Mastery, the head is a human/lion hybrid and they do indeed have wings. A deadly creature of the air.
Mask of Andarin: See Andarin (Mask of).
Master of Halls: A servant of the Royal Court. The Master of Halls controls who may or may not enter the Throne Room, and is responsible for security measures to protect the sovereign(s) of Order.
Menagerie of Botemis, The: (bo TEM iss) In Elf Mastery, this is a tale similar to the Biblical story of Noah's Ark. It is tied closely to the tale of Amerile the Water Spirit, in which a naiad cries and covers the earth in oceans and seas. Before the waters settled they threatened the lives of the animals, so Botemis created a great ship and took them inside. For twenty years they sailed until the waters settled and Botemis led his creatures back onto dry land.
Minotaur: (MIN uh tor) In Greek mythology, a creature that is part bull and part man. Usually depicted as the body of a man with the head of a bull. The most famous minotaur in mythology is the minotaur that lived in the Labyrinth and was slain by the hero Theseus. In Elf Mastery, minotaurs stand upright and have human-like arms, but hooves instead of feet and have a thin coat of coarse hair. They are large creatures, and known for their courage and ferocity in battle.
Mokosh: Mokosh is a leshy who lives in an enchanted clearing near Alfheim. His clearing is enchanted so as to be impossible to find with Mokosh's permission. Mokosh is fairly large, hairy, and abusive, and has enslaved Hajar the xana for many years.
Momus: In Greek mythology, a god of satire and mockery, and son of Nyx. In the Elf Mastery series, he is one of the children of Chaos. He alternated in support between the forces of Order and Chaos. The Disruptor of Chaos was created by Ky Montel to temporarily defeat Momus during the Bloodwar of Ky.
Monarch: An elf town in the same region as Aspengrove. Larger in size than Aspengrove, but still considered a small community.
Montgrelle Forest: (mont GRELL) A forest south of Equinox. It is most famous for the Kildath, a clearing which was the location of a bloody battle long ago.
Mrs. Withers: Mother of Kyle Withers and the Sheriff's wife. She is a kind woman, and devoutly religious.
Myam: A lizard-woman who works for Royal Intelligence. Her existence is unknown even to most of the Intelligence department. She has a kennel of baku which she sends to feed on the dreams of selected targets. The baku are trained to bring her the dreams for review before consuming them.
Myrkalfar: See Dusk Elf.
